Directions to Rooster Rock Beach

From Portland, take I-84 east to exit 25.
From Hood River, take I-84 west to exit 25.

To get to the clothing-optional (nude beach) section, including Sand Island, park in the east parking lot, and follow the beach trail to the nude beach. If the river level is high, you may need to take the Lagoon Trail. See trail map.

Parking: A $5 day-use parking permit is required to park in the parking lot. You can purchase a day-use pass near the park ranger’s booth at the entrance when you arrive, or purchase an Annual Pass from Oregon State Parks online before you arrive. If a ranger is present, you may be able to purchase an Annual Pass at the ranger’s booth.
